Essential Elite Skills
Monday, June 28, 2021, 8:30am-12:30pm
Deep inaccessible. Elevated. Close converging. These are the hides that can be easily missed and left behind at the Elite level. The focus of this seminar will be on working and calling these type of hides with confidence. You will learn how to recognize which type of hide your dog is working, how to support your dog and when to call alert. During this seminar, we will be running blind searches and known searches with discussion and coaching that will help build your team work and make you a stronger team. Please Note: Open to NW3 Elite teams & those trialing at the Elite levels
The Nuts & Bolts of competing at the NW3 Level
Monday, June 28, 2021, 1:30pm-5:30pm
Did I cover my search area? Did we miss any hides? Should I call finish? These are the core questions for an NW3 trial. Efficient searches & knowing when to finish searching with confidence is the foundation of an NW3 trial. You will learn how to recognize if your dog is working odor or other interesting smells, when your dog is done searching, and if and when to go back to an area. Developing these skills will help your journey to Elite be smooth and fun! Please Note: Open to teams trialing at the NW3 level
Location & Covid-19
The Commemorative Air Force Museum is located in an Airplane Hangar at the South St. Paul Airport and provides a large indoor space which allow for physical spacing for these seminars. But there may also be smaller interiors which may be used for searches, along with some exterior areas. All attendees who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 should wear a face mask that covers the nose and mouth for indoor searches, and when within a 6 foot distance of others. If there are any changes or updates that information will also be included in your final details information that will be emailed before the event.
Depending on which areas are utilized for the seminar you may be able to crate dogs inside, otherwise dogs will be crated in your car. More information will be provided as we get closer to the event.
